Each year over 3000 guests from Europe, Asia and the United States: Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers, heads of major corporations from around the world, the most important people in the world of culture, arts and media take part in this largest conference in Central and Eastern Europe.
The 26th edition of the Economic Forum in 2016 was attended by over 3,500 visitors from 60 countries. Since 1992, the Economic Forum has been an event where discussions on key issues in our region are ever-present. The Economic Forum is also the place where heads and ministers of European governments make important declarations.
Security issues, the financial crisis, unemployment, Brexit, immigrants - these are the major challenges which the European Union must face today. Despite this, countries associated with the EU, such as Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, are still striving to move closer to the EU. What are the prospects for the relationship between these countries and the EU? - this is one of the most important questions that will be raised during this year's Forum.
This year will be marked by general elections in the UK, France, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. Participants of the Krynica Economic Forum will discuss how power shifts in these countries are likely to influence international relations. They will also reflect on how America will evolve in the next four years and how this will impact European policies. In other words, what will be the world of new leaders?
The Krynica Economic Forum is also a venue for debating macroeconomics, business and management, innovation, health care, media and culture. Every year, over 180 panels are held over the three-day meeting in Krynica.
